Conner On Bravery
Thought it would be best to start off this blog discussing Conner's bravery and the tale of the missing tooth.
On August 20th, after many days of general teasing about the loose tooth dangling in his mouth, Conner decided to take action. Kira and I suggested, in a teasing kind of way, that Conner simply tie a string to the tooth, tie the other side of the string to the open door, and then slam the door shut.
Conner disappears and a few minutes later returns with a dispenser of dental floss, announcing that the time has come for the tooth to be extracted. I help him cut the floss a couple of feet long, hook a loop around one end, attach it to his tooth, make a loop at the other end of the floss, and then watch him attach it to the door. Sure enough, he opens the door, slams it shut while pulling his head back, and seconds later the tooth is out of his mouth, dangling on the string.
Everyone is in a little shock; Kira and I can't believe he really did it, and Conner, who I don't think thought it would really happen.
Moments later there were high fives all around.
Conner's status has risen to "Conner the Brave"
